·       Course Description:
Identify and explain the fundamental social, cultural, economic, environmental, political and social characteristics of globalisation. Identify, explain and analyze the challenges and opportunities offered to the Arab Gulf states by globalisation.Compare, contrast and evaluate the various ways Arab Gulf culture has responded to globalisation’s effect on cultural, national and regional identities. Explain and defend ideas using reflective practices
The Arab Gulf and the GCC countries have embraced and become integrated into the forces and influences of a global economy.  Along with this come great opportunities as well as challenges posed by this multifaceted phenomenon.  Students study and discuss a range of development issues found in the experience of globalization 

·       Course Learning Outcomes:
    • CLO 1- Identify and explain the fundamental social, cultural, economic, environmental, political and social characteristics of globalisation  
    • CLO 2- Identify, explain and analyze the challenges and opportunities offered to the Arab Gulf states by globalisation
o    CLO 3- Compare, contrast and evaluate the various ways Arab Gulf culture has responded to globalisation’s effect on cultural, national and regional identities.
o    CLO 4- Explain and defend your ideas to the instructor and classmates using reflective practices.
